Dearest Caleb,
I think you are in a much much better place now, than this place we call Earth, and that’s really great.
When there are no more tears left to cry, no more words to say, what we can do is to remember you fondly, and know that you are at peace.
You have had a big impact in my life, even though I never had the chance to say it to you.
It was your arrival in Delia & Cameron’s life that made me want to experience the joys of fatherhood myself.
We always knew that you were a very good boy, that both Delia and Cameron will never have to worry about you, that you will grow up to be a fine young man, and make your mark on this world.
I don’t want to write a long letter, listing out how much I miss you, the times we had, the future we could have experienced together.
I just want to say:
Thank you,
and I will always love you,
and have you in my heart.
To Cameron, Delia, Evan and Anna
Know that me , Adeline, the two gals, and all of your family in Singapore, will always be with you.
We will be with you in your times of grief.
We will be with you in your times of incomprehension.
We will be with you in your search and journey to acceptance.
We will be with you, and we will cry with you then wipe off the tears together, hold your hands and squeeze them tight, hug you, chat with you, and help you to find a little bit more strength to get through the day.
We will count the days till we can meet all of you again face to face and tell you all how much we love you.
To Cameron, I know you will have gigantic amount of strength to get back on your feet.
To Delia, I know that you are strong, you are stronger than you know.
To Anna, always always bring Joy to your family. That’s your special gift.
And to Evan, you will be a fine young man.
There is a void in our hearts. We can’t deny it. We can’t wish it to go away.
But in time, we can learn to keep the void there, and still make our hearts full, with love, happiness, peace and hope.
With much love and tears,
Delvin, Adeline, Sophie and Stephanie.
